Read More I didn't read the book, but I'm very familiar with Eckhart Tolle's work, so, for me, this movie is a brilliant dramatization of "The Power of NOW". Apparently, it's a movie that you either love or hate.....90% of the critics hated it, while some reviews on Amazon are ecstatic. It's a specialty film, and therefore, the free weekend. I'll be ordering it so that I can enjoy the journey at home. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Those who poo poo it are the ones who need most to learn the lessons Dan's story illustrates. I met Dan years ago in San Francisco after reading The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Scott Mechlowicz was a great young Dan, who much like the negative reviewers, needed a hard lesson to wake him up. If anyone slept through this movie, it's because they are sleeping through life...wake up and smell the roses. Nolte was an awesome and natural Socrates. I've read and recommended all of his books to friends and clients and plan to purchase the video. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I was pretty much blown away by how well this movie was made. The elements of suspense, the magical realism and symbolism, and the insightful philosophy, all combined with wonderful acting by Scott Mechlowicz, Nick Nolte and Amy Smart, produce a deeply provocative and meaningful film. Open yourself to the lessons that can be learned from "Peaceful Warrior" and take them with you for the rest of your life. This is one amazing film that should never be forgotten. Empty the trash, live in the moment, happiness is in the journey. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The scenes with gymnastic routines were nicely done. Although stunt doubles were used, I am impressed with the leading man's (Scott M.) specialized training and preparation for the movie. He is defintely convincing. Nick Nolte plays the role of "Socrates" well and is very credible as the wise mentor. The message of the film, "Here and Now", draws from the convergence of martial arts and Buddhist Tradition. Spiritual seekers will enjoy the simplicity of the film's message and will lure you to pursue other books written by Dan Millman. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I didn't think it had the makings of a movie (TV maybe). Anyway, it stayed fairly close to the book in its metaphysical bent on how to live life and the direction and pace were surprisingly good. The visuals, mood, and characters were all well-done. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
