I have already recommended this film to others who I know will enjoy it's message and wish there were more inspirational films like this rather than endless car chases. I even enjoyed the DVD extras. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I think they took the script way too long for what it should have been. Nolte was a strange choice as well but after taking him out of equation and fast forwarding thru the very boring middle of the movie you finally got a decent movie at that point Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Live for the moment and not for the past nor the future, just for the here and now. Scott Mechlowicz plays a young gymnist trying to wrap his mind around that theory as presented to him by the mysterious man at the gas station he calls Socrates played by Nolte. I wasn't blown away by the story itself for various reasons - but applaud the message it tried to bring. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I'm kinda of in between on my rating of this movie. My question is did the real Dan deal with a guru type gas station service man or was that just for the movie because other wise there would be no movie? The movie was better then I thought it would be but like some of the other reviews I'm glad I didn't go out to theater to pay big bucks to see it.
As someone who suffers from chronic pain and is learning to walk again with out a cane
I was glad that Dan was able to make a comeback; but like me I don't think the real Dan
had a mystic guru helping him just the people who truly love you. Would I recommend or watch this movie again - NO. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The best I can say for this film is I saw it for free. The first act of the film took up an hour by which point you don't care for Dan no matter how tragic his accident or how inspirational his recovery - and his recovery wasn't inspirational. Amy Smart was the only smart person in the film - her scenes were so limited a mannequin could have played them. Speaking of mannequins, in scenes with Dan on the rings the "rent-a-crowd" dummies in the stadium are so obvious it's incredible that these frames weren't removed. Were we supposed to overlook that and be awed by the body-double doing the actual stunts? And now stunts - the actor playing Dan did NOT have a gymnasts build (and his acting was repulsive - both before and after the accident). They couldn't cast a more athletic leading man? Or was the script so obviously bad that anyone with the proper talent ran from this picture just as you should. There are plenty of GOOD athletic based inspirational stories out there - skip this one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
