The acting was superb, etc. I even caught myself several times shedding a tear over the love that Esther showed for her King and for her people! Truly a great story!WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? I was pleasantly surprised when I decided ... Read More I kept passing over this movie for a long time...did not know it was about Esther. So I put it in my queque and when it came did not watch it right away. I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to watch it....and was more pleased to find it to be a story from the bible...not so many around. It was a great and timely story for me...I had just attended a Women's church conference...and the theme was based on Esther's story.
Very appropriate for strong christians (especially women) who are aware and understand....the meaning of ....For such a time as this!!!! Great movie...I loved it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More An enhanced version of a famous biblical story, "on Night With the King" is a decent but weak entry into biblical cinema. It looks good, but the actress who plays Esther is either out of her league or misdirected. She is very beautiful, but played the role in a contemporary manner. It was almost like "Clueless" meets the bible. Okay, not that bed. If you like epic stories, there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours. If I feel that there is going to be a cryptic dialog (such as this, with constant switching between characters), then one should simply not waste 2 hrs of their time to carry through.
