Read More This movie is "the awakening" for those who are still in denial that global warming is having a serious impact on our environment. Al Gore, famous (or infamous) as he is, has presented undeniable facts - I actually looked up some of the facts that he presented in scientific - peer reviewed journal sources - and they are shocking! It's a documentary that will wake your conscience. What is lacking though, is a focus of what the public can do to abate the problem. but again, it is hard enough to get people to realize and admit the problem. Alot of experts predict that it will be another record-breaking summer in 2007. I urge you to revisit this problem of global warming as you sit comfortably on your lazy-boy in the air-conditioned room, wake your conscience every time you turn on the ignition to your hummer/SUV and think about the future generation as you toss the recyclable items so nonchalantly into the trash can... Read More I wanted to know what ideas and influences were being broadcast publicly on the side of anthropocentric global warming (people at the center of global warming). Although global warming is something to be concerned about, the earth's climate has been fluctuating between hotter and colder than average for thousands of years, as research has shown.
This movie was visually poor. There were times when even a powerpoint presentation would have been more dramatic and enticing. The presentation was poor and partisan. Although Mr. Gore is welcome to spend his money on making any movie he likes, it isn't a documentary unless he is basing it on a document or recreating an actual event from the past. Mr. Gore, although an available mouthpiece, also has no credentials toward the topic. His lack of thorough research speaks against him more than the movie speaks for him.
Avoid it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Man, if you are sitting in bed one night and you can't seem to be able to coax the sandman in to your house for a rousing round of smack me with your junk, then you should rent this suckfest asafp. Imagine a movie about a rock and it's slow migration over millions of years in to a pile of sand. Put it on a DVD and hand to me, as I would watch it before I laid another eyelid on this vessel of excrement. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

HOWEVER, Gore himself can't seem to be inconvenienced. Gore owns 3 homes totalling over 16,000 sq feet. Can you imagine his electric and gas bills. Gore and his producer, David, regularly fly around the country in private jets using far more fossil fuels in a year than I will in a lifetime. Until he stops being such a hypocrite he is not a person who I would put much stock in. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Documentaries are supposed to be based in fact. This doesn't even come close. It is one man and his cronies opinions trying to force thier will upon the world. Do not waste your time. I can't believe I did. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

You could learn more by watching The Weather Channel; at least those people have some personality! And what was the point of Gore peppering the movie with how he unfairly lost the 2000 election, like that has something to do with Global Warming? We would have been bored to death if he actually got elected.....And he offers no solution anyway. It's a GLOBAL issue, yet he offers no global political solutions regarding India or China....
