Read More While it is true that Gore's ill-timed shots at the current administration taint this film, it is also true that the problem being discussed here is one that shouldn't be placed within the context of his personal agenda. The bottom line is this film is about Global Warming and climate change. As such, it does a great job of illuminating some of the drastic changes our earth has gone through in the last 30-40 years. Though the graphs and charts that often illustrate these changes frequently go without any citation, the photos of shrinking glaciers and snow pack across the globe are hard to argue with, no matter who you voted for. They reveal a disheartening and nearly unbelievable meltdown. Those who see this film as an instance of political mudslinging between parties have missed the point. It is really the first of its kind, one that attempts to get the message across that it is in our own interest to change the way we live and to transform our relationship to our only home. Read More This movie addresses the issue of global warming in a sense that the general public can understand--WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR HABITS!! As a geoscientist, I am here to tell you global warming is happening and we are accelerating it. The numbers may be slightly exaggerated for presentation effect, but not much. Limnology, Dendrology, and glacial studies (as a FEW examples) all record climatic events, and the news is not good. I do wish the movie wasn't so much like a lecture, but I am used to that sort of thing. If you stick around for the credits, it gives a website and suggestions on how to do your part. And then to say that we, as humans, stopped the ozone layer depreciation ... Read More Biased. I expected to hear both points of view, but this did not happen. There are plenty of opposing views on this issue. And then to say that we, as humans, stopped the ozone layer depreciation by stopping CFC use for that short amount of time made him seem uninformed and not credible. I'm pro-environment, but I don't just jump on every band-wagon. And I really cannot believe all of the awards this clout attracted.

Read More THis is a great movie for folks who do not understand the term Global Warming. It does give some links at the very end of the movie and many suggestions to held solve the problem while the music is playing. I loved this movie, it made me think more of what Global Warming is and what it's doing to the planet, and how real it is. Read More As a thoughtful person, I am disturbed that so many believe the evidence presented in this film is indisputable. In fact, a small amount of research will reveal many scientists believe that man is an insignificant contributor to cyclical climate change that has been a part of this world for thousands of years. The film is thought provoking, but by no means authoritative. It should not have been presented as fact, but as a viewpoint to be considered. In truth, it borders on junk science. Read More The 2 responses you have received from 2 disgruntled viewers are scary. Their view which is obviously shared by a great many individuals is the reason this earth (Mother Nature) has begun fighting back against the onslaught of Human munipulation and mismanagment of the environment. I will probably not live to see the ultimate extreme of this impact but our children and grandchildren will be the ones who will be forced to attone for our generations disinterest in our environment; and distain for a point of view that goes against main stream beliefs.
I believe this is an extremely relevent movie. This is not a movie to watch if you are looking for entertainment; but if you are at all interested in "Our" future, this is a MUST see movie.
