If you are emotional, have tissues available. Acting was excellent and so was the story. I have a greater appreciation of our Coast Guards and how they put their lives at stake to save others. Ashton Kutcher was not believeale in his role but was good eye candy. The chemistry was lacking amongst the actors. I was not sold on this one.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

A fine script, fine acting from Kutcher & Costner. Got to see the Coast Guard get its chance in the spotlight. But the film just felt like a cross between "Top Gun", "GI Jane" & "Major Payne". He is just plain awful. I generally think Costner does a good job in his movies, but he seemed less than enthusiastic in this particular role. Pass this one by. I cannot believe that there are so many Great Reviews for this film -- that is a total mystery. This movie was just flat out plain boring and very long. This movie just continued to drag and drag out some more. There are only a couple rescue scenes, mostly in the first 5 minutes of the film and the last one at the very end, and you will only see this if you don't happen to fall asleep first.
