Another great movie to watch from a historical period. Seriously entertaining. Highly moral. Not one single bad word. JUST OVERALL GREAT!

I was not familiar with William Wilberforce before this movie; but, now I want to know more about the man who suffered ridicule and physically for his faith and for a cause that was immoral but lucrative. The acting was superb and the story line moving.

It looks like Ioan Gruffudd is definitely type-cast for 19th century English authority figures (re: Horacio Hornblower series). Great story and beautiful production.

Fabulous! I LOVED that I this movie wasn't full of foul language, sex, and perversion like SOO many movies out there today. It was very well done. I wish there were movies like this out there.

Every detail of this movie is excellent: acting, directing, the writing is incredible, costumes, lighting, etc. It's one perfect movie with a powerful theme about an era and people that literally changed the world, but not without cost. Albert Finney gives one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen on screne. They have set the bar high.

This was a great movie! The story of William Wilberforce and his diligence to do God's will is inspiring. What would our world be like if he and the others had given up. This isn't a "politically correct" topic. This movie is history. Slavery is still going on today and it is as wrong today as it was then.

It was poorly directed. The images were confusing and non-sequential. The actions of the characters were unmotivated and at times melodramatic. The dialogue was a desperate attempt at profundity, but it usually came across as amateur and cliché. The makers of this movie cared more about what they were trying to say instead of making the audience relate to the characters saying it. Thus, it completely failed at convincing us of its message, which was that all mankind should be seen as equal and not as possessions or mere instruments of production. Yet, that is all the historical characters in this movie became were instruments of production as opposed to tangable human beings. The film is a powerhouse of excellent actors whose brilliant performances, amid all of its shortcomings, barely made the film tolerable.
