You have to give Disney props for so honestly making fun of decades of princess tales. But the real reason to see this film is Amy Adams, who is spot on in both her portrayal of an animated ditz and in her evolution into a real person. Yeah, there's some kid-focused schmaltz, and the ending is stupid, but there are some truly golden moments in this film.

When you first hear about this movie, you think, oh geeze, another fairytale movie! But it is very modern and up to date in that it ties in the fiarytale land with the real world of New York City. Another interesting contrast is the way in which true love is discovered. I don't want to give away the story, but you will be surprised how this comes out and it is very entertaining. Good movie, I will buy it!

I thought it was a funny and cute movie geared for children but it also has its adults moments. All the actors Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and James Marsters were great !! Do not miss out !

Instead of the fairy tale vs. reality satire the previews pushed, neither universe' rules are followed and we realize producers are counting on the 11 year old girl's audience to laugh at everything, like a cartoon-turned human prince charming to be interrupted in his romantic opera by a team of cyclists tumbling over him in NY's Central Park. Nostalgia for the testicle crunching comedy of Home Alone Sequels. Sequels.

Very sweet movie. Corny in parts but necessary for the Fairy Tale theme. The cast was great. Amy Adams was perfect as the princess and Patrick Dempsey proves why he is "McDreamy." Susan Sarandon makes the most of her role as the evil queen and James Marsden is great as the clueless prince. The special features and "making of" the movie were interesting. Kids and adults of all ages will like it. I had to convince my 12 year old daughter to watch it, (thought it was too juvenile,) and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a cute movie, with some funny(but not hilarious) moments, and totally family appropriate, but it is really predictable.

The movie was great. Susan Sarandon was a great villain. Unfortunaly, Patrick Dempsey was a bit flat and I am starting to realize he can't play a vast range of emotions. He does Emo and whiny really well though and stiff. I am hoping when I see Freedom Writers he shows me that he can act.
