Otherwise, Dermot and Amanda P. were great in this. Dermot gave the best crying scene I've seen from a male actor. The plot is a bit maudlin and contrived though. Get the tissue boxes out! Read MoreMuch like everyone else, I hadn't heard anything about this movie prior to Blockbuster recommending it to me. I am wholeheartedly glad, however, that the recommendation was made, as I really enjoyed this story. I thought that the chemistry between Dermot Mulroney and Amanda Peet was remarkable, the dialogue was good, and the acting was heart felt. I felt there were two small downsides/discrepancies, however. First, how likely is it that they both are going to have terminal cancer? They didn't meet at a hospital, they met in a college/continuing ed class. Second, DM's character has two young sons, and I was surprised that he wasn't spending more time with them. But, with both of these things overlooked, this movie made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me a bit jealous of their "true love," which, by the way, was beautiful. The actors didn't really look like terminal patients and sometimes the scripting was so so but overall it is a movie worth seeing and i would deffinetly reccomend. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
