Lenny played a beautiful role here and I was surprised at the cast of great actors scattered throughout the film. It was very sad and heart wrenching at times, and very simple in other scenes. I like a film that moves me and this one is no exception.

Ending very sad but seemed to fit the movie. My husband ... Read More Great story plot, wonderful acting by Danny Glover and especially by the young girl, who I could not find the name of. She was phenomenal! Ending very sad but seemed to fit the movie. My husband spent two tours in Vietnam during that conflict, so this was especially moving for us to watch. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful While I wanted to shut it off within the first 5 minutes I stuck around to watch the whole thing. And I am glad I did. Damn movie made me cry. May be because I work with Veterans and some of the scenes hit close to home. While it could have been better, it was simple yet touching.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

It was ruined by the formula drama treatment of killing off the pivotal character to evoke an emotional response. Another manipulative and unnecessary cheap trick ending. It's about time that hollywood stopped following the formula and made some honest dramas.

Read More Thought the story was great, rented this so that the whole family could sit and enjoy a 'family drama'. ***Spoiler coming up**** we loved it until about 15 minutes before the end and there was this sad sad sad part of the movie that left the kids crying and the adults close to tears. Had I known about this part, I would probably not have gathered everyong to sit around and watch the movie. Everything else about the movies was okay though.
