As an old soul, I really enjoyed this period movie. The storyline was fresh and the characters believable. A must-see.

I saw this one and the Illusionist, and have to say the Prestige wins hands down. Great story and terrific ending.

is it real? or is it an illusion? you wonder thru the entire movie, & then still might not be sure by the end.... Very engrossing story. Its not so much about the acting, altho it was fine for what this film was. You're constantly being fooled, and just when you think you might have it figured out, you don't.

Obsessions are for the young. This is a story of two men who pursue magic as a profession. Rivalry gets the best of them and after one’s wife dies in a magic act accident, the rivalry becomes a life-long obsession to destroy one another. Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) act as though there is nothing better in life than get back at those we hate the most. Walk away. Tomorrow is another day, but no, they can’t just let this go. Drama turns into a science fiction flick as one discovers a contraption that allows a person to be duplicated, multiple times. Be care what you wish for. I won’t spoil the middle plot, but the ending is just plain dumb. The movie leave son un-satisfied. Michael Caine plays a decent role; Scarlett Johansson still looks like a 10, but David Bowie, please. What is it with old rock stars that they can’t just retire and enjoy their life?

The store was unique and interesting to a point, so as not to spoil anything for those who will be renting it I can't give specific reasons for my dislike, but I'll just say the ending left me feeling like I wasted my time watching it. The acting was good, and plot twists hard to see coming.
