This movie is a big exception. A real gem! Francis Ford Coppola has directed a wonderful cast and created an engrossing and visually beautiful film using lovely Romania as his backdrop. How can you review 30 min of something? This movie bored and captivated me at the same time. I was disinterested and almost drawn to tears at the same moments. Very odd is this movie. I couldn't decide if it was fantastic or garbage after I first watched it, but it left me thinking and talking about it. I think you need to watch it a few times and turn the subtitles on to pick up everything (unless you know every language in history). Don't just give up on this movie. However since I am not a philosopher I thought it was weird and boring. ... Read More I thought this movie was awful. I am certainly not a philosopher. If I were I might see this movie as profound and inspiring. However since I am not a philosopher I thought it was weird and boring. It had some cool story line ideas in it. But it seemed to switch main characters half way through the film. And there was an entire reference to the war, made, that didn't seem to have anything to do with the actual plot line.
