This was worse than chick flick; it wasn't even THAT interesting! The acting jobs were certainly competent enough, but I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for the clever dialogue and engaging story I kept hearing about until I finally saw the credits. I think you pretty much have to be a New Yorker and working in the fashion industry to "get" this movie, because honestly to me it was just 2 hours of watching people be mean and cruel to each other for no apparent reason while making decisions that made absolutely no sense. I was expecting a witty, light-hearted comedy but I think I may have slightly chuckled only once during the entire movie. Do not waste your time. Even my wife complained about how disappointed she was by this flick.

This movie is about women that becomes intoxicated by the world of glamour, high living and travel. In the begining she knows who she is, she knows and cares about her friends and family but, seeking a ways to a means, get lost on the way to living who she is. I must say the clothes are fabulous, the actors and actress or devine and the scenes are beautiful. enjoy!!!!!!

While I always enjoy and am amazed at Meryl Streeps abilty to be any character, I think this movie is aimed at women. I find it difficult to bellieve that anyone takes "fashion" all that seriously, but obviously, there are those that do. Intersting insights to the fashion business I guess, but to me jsut showing the ridiculousness of the whole thing. Entertaining if for no other reason than the wonderful performances. Recommended
