Meryl Streep is interesting and Anne Hathaway is cute but I kept waiting for something controversial to happen and it never did. The movie has no depth and a predictable storyline so it's a "no-brainer" watch if you're looking for something really light and mildly entertaining.

however this is the worst movie i've ever seen and it calls for forewarning. many people will instantly like this because of the professional "hollywood gloss" but this movie severely lacks any content on any level. direction, storyline and even screenplay seem to be afterthoughts. the production company just saw the book and thought it would be a very profitable product to create a movie out of and not put effort into. this is a consumer product; the exact arch enemy of which the movie is trying to portray. if you have an opinion on consumerism and are trying to give young girls a lesson that its shallow and pedantic, at least don't glamorize the disgusting industry of self-centeredism and anorexia.
