I'm a baby boomer, well familiar w/ Dylan and the era. That being said, this was somewhat disjointed, didn't hold my interest and was a long 2 hours.

This movie makes no sense unless you read the extra feature introduction on the DVD, which is cryptic in itself. However, even with that under your belt, this film is a flop. Unless you are a super freak fan of Dylan, none of this makes any sense or is at all entertaining. I don't understand how this film got any good reviews. Don't waste your time.

This movie has no plot, story line, or any resemblance of balance or rhythm. It's kinda like one of Dylans songs. It's a self interpretention for your imagaination. I watched about 30 minutes of it and was totally frustrated. Besides a bad movie, it skipped throughout the entire movie as I jumped from one chapter to next. Big thumbs down for this collage of garbage.

As a fan of Bob Dylan since the begining, and yes I'm a boomer, I found this movie to be a disjointed mess! A lot of it made no sense at all. Only Dylan can play Dylan! No offense to the wonderful actors who tried to portray different parts of his life, but there was not one single believable performance in the bunch! Ledger, Blanchett, Bale, and Gere are (and were) all great at their craft, but you just can't mumble and think people will buy it. It was a waste of my time. I hated it!

I love all the actors in this movie, and I love Cate Blanchett....what happened? I couldn't make heads or tales of this movie. A little about me? I've got a doctorate degree and love to watch movies that have won awards b/c I want to spend my time wisely. I watched about an 45 min to give it a good fair share of my time. I was totally clueless, and should have read other reviews first!! UGH! Don't waste your time!

The reviewers who have said you must be a real Dylan fanatic to "get" this film are right. Brilliant kaleidoscopic views of an enigmatic genius.... Don't look for a bio or a documentary, but an experience!

This film is being squeezed off, on all fours and barking like a dog that it is. Don't was five minutes of your life with this dog turd of a movie.

It's like Bob Dylan in the body of...shut the hell up. This movie is a study of the way every dickhead, burned out Dylan fan imagines a Dylan movie should be...no need for plot, man....hang on...heavy...how about no value at all? yeah, that'd be great, man! Oh, i know what would be the most, man...it's a complete mindf*ck and not in a good way...it'll just be this masturbatory allegory for Mom & Dad to remember when they were wannabeatnics. A cirle jerk for the inner circle of JERKS. We get it. Dylan, famous, 'cool/?, bunch of great actors patting each other on the back for impressions of a guy whos main distinguishing feature is the ease with which he can be imitated. This movie deserves no awards. It actually made me like some of Bob Dylans music....but just made me hate his fans even more.
