I sure hope he was working for a percentage of the film take and not a million dollar salary. This is one of those movies where you wonder what the women see in this guy. He has his good moments, but with a beard or unshaved look, he is definately not that good looking. The whole story line was poor and what acting there was, was not that great. Normally I would agree with other reviewers that it could have been shorter. However, it would have been impossible for the viewers to see the nuances in the characters (which is the reason Casey Affleck was nominated.) This movie will age very well in my opinion. If you like detail, and or movies that force the characters to look inward give this movie a chance. The director did an absolute wonderful job of telling the story and used every minute wisely. Casey Affleck manages to outshine Brad Pitt in every way. The scenes where he's on the screen are magnetic. Unfortunately, the movie falls apart with the slow storyline.

The character development was so deep that it actually leads you to having feelings for the characters and a genuine connection. This is not your traditional shoot-em-up western, so if your looking for action, look somewhere else(although their are action scenes).
