Knowing that the events of this movie could have actually happened made it all the more intriguiging. However, it is definately for adults only. I give this four stars because I believe they could have told the story effectively using at least 20 minutes less time. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Black Book is a very well and tightly constructed story of an attractive Dutch Jewess (Carice van Houten) who agrees to work for the Resistance in the waning months of World War II. Awash with the violence, betrayal, fear and the sexuality of the times, the film will firmly hold you in the grasp of its action, plot twists, emotional ups and downs and moral dilemmas. All that plus the mystery : Who is the traitor? Dutch and German with English subtitles. 4.5 Stars. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Just watched this movie last night and it was a great WWII movie, I usually falls asleep with foreign films with subtitles but I stayed awake through the whole DVD. Carice Van Houten and the rest of the cast gave great performances, and even though the movies is 146 minutes with all the twist and turns it keeps you glued to the screen not even one boring scene. One of the best movies I have seen in the past year. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Props and settings take one back to WW2, exceptionally believable. A few scenes are a bit unrealistic, like someone blows a police whistle and the police and gestapo are there in seconds but it only happens once or twice in the movie... All in all an exciting film... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
