I watched this on the night it came out and was very impressed. A movie of valor, strength. honor and determination. The battle scenes are awesome, the characters are diverse and whether this really happened in history or not doesn't really matter, the moral of the story and the message it leaves, gets under your skin and would have made any of us proud to be a Spartan. Worth renting for sure. Everyone needs to see this movie at least once.

I haven't read any of the graphic novels by Frank Miller, but I loved Sin City. For some reason this movie just didn't capture my attention like other epic movies like Troy. It seems strange to me because I love action/adventure movies and I loved Sin City and the Spirit but I just really couldn't pay attention to this one. I feel bad about not liking it but I have tried to watch and re-watch it and I just can't get through the whole thing without turning it off.
