It is an amazingly masculine movie though. Even so - it shows the queen in an very strong light. I thought it would be the other way around ... Read More I loved this one. Gerard Butler was fantastic in this movie. The special effects were fantastic in this movie. My Husband didn't like it but I loved it. I thought it would be the other way around but this one sucked me in, in the first 10 minutes and I couldn't wait to watch the rest of it. The story line and the acting was great in this film. It was an excellent movie about the 300! This is a definite must see. It is guite gorey in parts so it is definitely not a movie for small children as it is violent. I give this one 4 stars as it is defintely worth the time it takes to view it. Read More This was truly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. In their attempt to aggrandize the heros the writers and directors belittle the Persians and make all the actors look foolish in the process. This world of fantasy is so skewed that I wonder what reality is like for the directors. I was able to tolerate the first 30 minutes or so of the movie. It seemed that it might actually be an overblown yet still somewhat entertaining movie. If you enjoy good movies, please don't waste your time. Read More the first sitting with me and my girlfriend put us to sleep within a half hour, as the plot seemed kind of weak and almost immediately it was war scenes. the second sitting, i watched the whole movie and i did like a few things about the movie and the effects were pretty sweet, but i still didn't like the story. it seemed kind of basic or copied compared to other movies i have seen, and then the end they didn't even mention who wins the war, i am assuming the Spartans. but overall, a good movie to watch, but not what i was expecting after the reviews.
