Great Movie. The special effects were awesome. Storyline was great, the few against the many, standing up for their beliefs and way of life! Will definitely see this again!

My expectations were too great: I thought I was going to see a reenactment of the battle of Thermopoly. Instead, it is a ridiculous cartoon meant to be viewed by bloodthirsty 8 year olds.

Paul P and Tammi S were right on with their review. OK movie but CGI way over the top with too thin of a plot. Would nit see it again.

Saw this opening week in the theater. It was blood and guts and men throwing out their massive chests and shouting that they are Spartans! The rugged little band of 300 against the largest, fiercest army every assembled, piling up the bodies in front of them. This movie was shot with teenage boys the apparent audience - the heroes were all manly men and the bad guys were all ugly, deformed or monsters, the storyline was weak and transparent, there were some scenes to provide tittalation, and of course the CGI battles were all amazing video game caliber. About halfway through this movie, I realized it wasn't going to get any better, but I clung to the hope that it would. I got to the end and knew that I had wasted not just the money I spent, but two hours of my life. I will never get that time back, and if you waste your time looking at this movie, you will know that horrible feeling of loss also.

I have to agree with Paul P. The computer generated scenes were horrible, and the story was lacking in so many ways. I was very disappointed after reading all of the great reviews. Perhaps, it was better if seen in the theater.
