I found this movie to be very depressing until the very end. I really enjoyed the scene in the hospital during/after the birth of her baby.

This movie should never have been listed as a comedy. Imagine sitting down after a hard day of work and wanting to lose yourself in comedic drivel to boost your endorphins only to be subjected to a very sad movie about a kind woman trapped in a loveless and abusive marriage only to find out she is pregnant with her husband's baby which she most definitely does not want. And then to top it off she is then "used" by her own OB-GYNE into having an affair with him while pregnant. The only thing that saves her is looking at her newborn baby and the unexpected money she receives- which then wakes her up, jars her into reality, and makes her finally take stock of her life. Not a comedy - but a coming of age story. On the positive side - the acting was very good - Russell makes you want to help her and her cohorts were believable. Best of all - the pies looked sensuous and scrumptious.

My wife wanted to see this movie because she'd heard that it was "uplifting" but it was about as uplifting as a funeral and about as much fun to watch as a box of casket nails. On the positive side, the pies looked wonderful and I kept wishing that I could taste them.

This was a small film set on small stage, but it is told so well with such strength that as the closing credit rolled my wife and I both felt like we'd been transported to this small town. I can't imagine how this film could have been changed to make it better. Every cast member did a near perfect presentation of a heartfelt script. The end result was poignant, stirring and left us a bit teary. Bravo!

This was a cute movie with a good ending. I normally do not enjoy movies when an affair is involved but this one I surprising enjoyed. I was impressed by Kerri Russell. Also, this movie gives an accurate portrayl of what a mother feels like when we hold our baby for the first time. Nothing else matters!

Okay, Matlock was really great in this flick. But it seemed like it was definitely a play adapted for the screen. A curse on Ebert & Roeper for telling me to watch this one.

Began so whimsically, fun and interesting. Ended as totally formulaic as you can get. What a huge disappointment! If I'd had any idea, I'd have skipped it. Great cast, though.
