A former high-school hockey star handicapped in a tragic car accident becomes an unlikely ally to a crack team of determined bank robbers in this thriller starring Jeff Daniels and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. When his promising career on the ice is suddenly cut short, former athlete Chris Pratt (Gordon-Levitt) goes to work as a janitor in a local bank. Cleaning floors soon gives way to criminal enterprise when the onetime puck-slinger is recruited to help clean out the very bank that employs him. Screenwriter Scott Frank (Out of Sight and Minority Report) makes his directorial debut, working from his own original screenplay. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I had not heard anything about this movie and decided to give it a try. Turned out to be a good movie. Acting was good as well as the plots. I also learned a little about living with a brain injury. Not a waste of time.
Starts a little slow but developes quickly. Very good acting by all concerned. After initially wondering about where the plot is
going, a sympathy for the central character and where he is headed is felt. I found myself becoming truly interested in what
will become of him and how his life will work out. I feel that this film starts off as a "2 star" and then becomes a "4 star +"
before the exciting end.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a fantastic job in this film! Jeff Daniels really showed how versitile he is. This movie showcases their talent. The script was well written and kept my attention throughout. I thought they could have developed his character a bit more pre-accident. Overall, I was entertained and recommend this movie!
This is a very good movie. The acting is great, the characters keep your attention and you're put into some "catch 22" situations with the lead character. Different type of movie that works. Well done and worth a look.
this turned out to be a really good movie. I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he is a great actor and I appreciate his work in indies. this is a movie i would recommend ppl to see
A bit slow - but so what, that takes you into lead character's reality - an intelligent script and good acting .
Another film made on location in Canada that sneaks under the radar.
I did not think I would like this movie based on the limited description that came with the movie. I was wrong. I found myself quite taken with the 2 main characters (Jeff Daniels and Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Very believable story line and well executed throughout the entire movie. I highly recommend renting this one. There is brief nudity and gun violence so I would not suggest this for young children. Teens and older would be fine seeing this.
But in a good way! Loved it, acting was great, script was great, a real gem. I thought everyone getting blown away at the end was a bit unrealistic, but I was happy to see the kid was ok. Beware O'Douls!
