Scenes are too long (did the director forget to say cut?). No WOW factor to the fight scenes. Just delete this from your queue and rent Iron Monkey or Hero. If you want to see some CUH-RAZY fighting go rent Tony Jaa's movies "Ong Bak" or "The Protector". I would NOT want to be the stuntman in those movies. They really get hit !! Good
-very much enjoyed watching
-great video quality for movie being all on 1 disc (disc 2 is extras+alt ending)
-crouching-hero type tend to have too much wire nonsense. this had very little walking up tree type crap.
Bad
-story and characters were confusing at times
-typical DTS. footsteps will wake up the neighbors but speech is near silent (dolby was good)
maybe someday they will learn that action close ups get old but far off epic battle feels are even cooler and very underused.

Good fight scenes but very slow moving for an action pic. Since the movie had a 4 1/2 hour cut it seems that the matereial overwhelmed the fine director; at its present 2 1/2 hours it still feels incomplete in its narrative and has little flow with its story. The cast is great led by a host of Shaw Brother regulars and my man Donnie Yen who emotes equally well with his sparse dialog and his fists/ swords. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
