Read More Well this movie is clearly one that you can skip. I enjoy watching chinese action films, especially sword fighting sequences but Seven Swords didn't have a strong storyline to backup the action. How the swords were given to the two villagers really didn't make any sense, I don't even know if they were even worthy of it (i.e. remember the girl trying to fend off the warrior in the first 20mins by the stream?) So all in all, I manage to watch about an hour and half of it and really had to stomache the aweful plot before finally stopping the movie. My take, F. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read More Now I've been a fan of Tsu Hark for sometime, I enjoyed his movies The Black Mask & The Blade (not wesley snipes). Tsu Hark is known for his action & artsey film styles, unfortunately this one misses badly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all that much deep into neededing great storylines for a movie to be good, but this one was clearly a dud. This movie seems rushed, the love relationships developed where clearly you didn't see it occur, and you don't see a bond between the Swordsman & the Villagers. I would hardly say this movie didn't have any action though. They have some greatest sword action, and the sword action at the end is one of the greatest sword sequences I've ever seen. It's just too bad most of the movie was slow and lacked substance. This movie is a poor version of the Seven Samurai or even the Magnificent Seven, and your better off watching those instead. I thought it was good since in the preview, it says that seven swords can be compared to crouching tiger, and hero. Story line is horrible. People can't control their hormones. Worst dubbed voices ever. People don't even make sounds when they're being killed. They just fall. please save your money and time. watch "THE PROTECTOR".!WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Everything about this movie makes me regret that I wasted and hour and a half of my life just to sit there while my friends thought it was smart because "it might get better".
