The movie offers a little something for everyone-a love story, excellent fighting scenes without all the blood and gore & the ending of the Roman Empire.
This movie is worth taking a chance on-donâÃÂÃÂt let all the negative reviews scare you off from renting this one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It is definitely worth a watch but not upto the mark in comparison to other such films in the same genre. The plot is so so and the amazing action does not make up for it. You will not regret renting it, but if you don't, you won't miss anything! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I never read the book so I can't comment on the literacy accuracy. However, I would also certainly not rate this as an 'epic' by any means - as it fell far short (in acting and script) compared to Troy, Excalibur, King Arthur, etc. There were some corny scenes (attempted comedy perhaps?) thrown in here and there. For an entertaining movie, this will certainly pass. But as an epic "must-buy-for-my--collection" movie - I'll pass. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Except for the all too predictable romance story, this is a pretty decent period piece set at the demise of the Roman Empire & introduction to English history as affected by the same, specifically Arthurian lore. As a history teacher, I discovered it to be fairly accurate except as stated before the silly and unnecessary romance.
Ben Kingsley, as usual, shines in his portrayal of Merlin and Colin Firth does a decent switch from his shyboy romantic comedy roles into almost a Brave Heartian hero. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
