Read More This is very deep, definitely not for those who just want to be entertained without having to think their way through it.. If you are expecting a light comedy, this is definitely not for you. At first I found it somewhat hard to follow, but then the pieces started to fall in place and the characters established themselves. The humor is definitely British and at first much of it goes by you. The ending brought it all home to me, so much so that I sat down and watched it a second time. Read More If you are looking for an American movie with mostly action and plot, then this is not for you. European movies are often more about character development, and there is some of that in the movie. There is more philosophy than history in the classes. The story line has gay content throughout, which will interest some and put off others. As you can tell by the variety of reviews, most find it 1) thought provoking, 2) boring or 3) repulsive. I enjoyed the movie because there is more intelligent academic conversation than we get in 100 American flicks. America is the country of the overfed and yet undernourished...yes, this goes for films, too. American films are mostly made to be digested easily, and we have become so accustomed to this type of mindless entertainment. This is not too esoteric, but it's not fluff either. It starts out by saying that these 8 kids are trying to get into Oxford or Cambridge (Either will do apparently. Not a picky lot). But ... Read More Don't waste your time. There is no reason to watch this movie. It starts out by saying that these 8 kids are trying to get into Oxford or Cambridge (Either will do apparently. Not a picky lot). But the movie never bothers to let us know why we should care whether these 8 guys get in, or don't. Or whether they all get hit by a bus, or not. There is ZERO character development and 20 minutes into the movie I'm left feeling like there's at least 3 of them I'd like to see get hit by a bus. Terrible, terrible movie... Read More I was expecting an intellectual movie that dealt with history and education and it hinted towards that for a few minutes. Then it turned into an everybody is gay movie. The students allow the teacher to grope them and laugh about it, they get a new teacher who is also gay and falls in love with one of the boys.
This is an agenda movie and if you enjoy watching male teachers fondling their students then you have your movie. I was repulsed. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Namely there is no retribution. The headmaster tries but he is found to be bangging his sectratyy. Utter rubbish!!
