Tsotsi was a great character study and I liked how it contrasted the modern city and the slums, rich and poor. It is well worth watching. Check out the alternate endings too! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

This movie was very very good. It did drag at times. And I kept wondering why does this thug want the child. I do reccomend for those of you who are tired of all the blowing up car chases and bad stuff that hollywood is putting out these days. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

It profiles a young "wanna be" thug who emerges from the slums of South Africa to rob his fellow man. When a carjacking results in the kidnapping of a child, Tsotsi gets in touch with the drop of decency left in him and decides to take care of the child. As he becomes more in touch with humanity, he decides to correct his error. The movie takes you on a journey of salvation and redemption. This is a must see film!! This is not a stuff your face with popcorn and zone out movie; this is a film which explores the idea of redemption, forgiveness, and a change of heart in both the 'bad guy' AND the supposedly innocent. Brilliant! The acting is some of the best I've ever seen. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

it's worth the wait. Arm chair guess is that if
you miss "motivation" in the film think back about the young man's experience when he was young and the family pet. Not since the City of
GOD have I been drawn in by the characters in this movie. My mind keeps going back to "there has to be a way out, but where's the door"? I will probably watch it again so see what if anything I missed.
