Gere had the opportunity to really run with this film but the film and Gere never get out of "Park" in the transmission of a potentially great story vehicle, about the headline-making fraudulent Howard Hughes Autobiography. Just as Howard Hughes phoned in his denial of any contact with the purported author of his bio, Richard Gere "phoned in" this performance. A solid half-star for "I really hated this movie."
