It was full of action, drama and had a touch of comedic action. The story is a moving look into the ongoing internal conflicts that rage on in Africa. Yes, the violence was graphic but that is what happens in the different countries in Africa over the fight for control that rages over the diverse natural resources that are there.
I loved how Djimon didn't give up looking for his son and then when they had the moment when Djimon reminded him who he was and where he came from.

Better yet, it was profoundly eye opening. I had the chance to visit South Africa recently and learned even more about the diamond mines and the effects the diamond business has had on the people of South Africa. This is one of those movies that will leave a lasting impression, and change your views on consumerism and the prices paid for material commodities.

It starts out with a good pace and immediately creates tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, I feel the scenes that isolate Leo and Connelly together are unnecessarily long and drab and take away from the overall appeal of the movie. I almost forgot what all the tension was about because of those scenes. Maybe someone fell asleep in the editing booth? Also, Leo's accent I could have done without. Otherwise, the subject matter is interesting and I think when the focus is on the overall main objective the movie has more appeal. You will see what I mean if you watch this movie. Read More This could have been a very good movie, but the painfully written screenplay sucked this film down into the "not worth watching" catagory. The dialogue between charactors was predictable, agenda'ed, sub-mediocre, Hollywood writing. Early on, there were dialogues solely intended to force feed us extensive background, and information... that stuck out like neon Cliff notes. It insulted the viewer's intelligence. This conspicuous shortcoming became glairingly offensive when the charactors exited terrifying, adrenaline-inducing scenes... like after being bombed and shot up at road blocks, and seeing friends grusomely killed... and then moments later, after a miraculous, heart pounding escape, their dialogues quickly settled into predictable, emotionally inconsistent dribble.
