Read More Sadly, even with a cast of critically acclaimed actors, this movie is possibly the worst movie ever made in the history of film-making. Not only was the acting horrible, the movie came off as a bad version of Lord of the Rings with a director (Uwe Boll) who is infamous for his lack of talent (see wikipedia). I can't give the movie even half a star. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More In the Name of the King was far less than what I had expected and not even in the same county with what I had hoped. Take into consideration that I am a huge fan of movies with little plot and tons of mindless violence. The dialog, the action and the costumes were pretty much on par with the television series Power Rangers. However I should clarify that I did enjoy the first Power Rangers movie when it hit theaters. The special effects were not terrible, in fact that might have been the best part of the movie and don't even get me started on the music during the trailer!
That said, if you don't enjoy grotesque bloodshed and have exhausted the selection of movies at your local Blockbuster, then by all means, after all it has Burt Reynolds! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Burt Reynolds is another actor that I wouldn't put in any movie, but in this he did not bother me (probably because I was relieved that Liotta was not in his scenes) Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read More This was the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have seen some pretty bad ones. I really enjoy Jason Statham in his other movies, but if I was a director, I would not hire him just for the simple reason that he took this role. The funniest thing to me was that everyone in the movie has a different accent. What time period was this? The humor definetely was not there. I never write reviews, but I had to voice my opinion on this one!!! I felt ripped off after watching it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

My wife and I could only stomach about 20 minutes worth of this turd. Somehow they got a half-way decent cast to buy into this mess. Money talks I guess.
They could have at least made a half-assed effort to make actors look like the period the movie is set in. Statham looks like he just stepped off the Transporter set and Ray Liotta off the Goodfellas one. Its so stiff, boring and cartoonish its not even funny as a parody. By the time Burt Reynolds and his grotesquely facelifted features made his appearance as the king the nausea got so bad I was ready to barf in a bag and send it to the director. But then again, just looking at the string of bowel movements Uwe Bolle has put on the screen should have tipped me off. I've learned my lesson.... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Left hanging as to fate of nephew with exception of a deleted scene. Unfamiliar with game so that didn't factor into the movie for me. Jason Statham hard to warm up but plays the "hero" well. Ray Liotta and LeeLee Sobieski a stretch as romantic interaction. Also, didn't flesh out Sobieski's interaction as magus at end as much as could have - it almost seemed an "add-on" type scene. And, Ray Liotta attacking with books?!! Seriously? Still, all in all, worth watching. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The cast was full of "well knowns" that added to the quality of this move.
I'd watch it again Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
