I love both Parker and McConaughey but do not waste your time on this one!

This movie was very predictable. The acting was disappointing, maybe because there was no chemistry between the main actors. I usually like Parker, Bates, and McConaughey.... but not in this move.

The thirtysomething slacker Tripp is not an emotional retarded kid. He is confident, successful, and used to be engaged. He is even prepared to be an important part of other kids life. So he may not want to have another female get emotional invested in him. But his problem was never a failure to launch. I was surprised at the incite and honesty that some of the characters gave. I believe Paula's attraction to Tripp but don't understand where Tripp fell for her. I also didn't appreciate the the formulaic relationship that everyone was trying to get Tripp to subject to. Every character had their different quarks that could have produced their own relationships, like with kit and ace. either way I enjoyed the movie.
