Read More Completely unbelievable and defying even the laws of physics! This hectic rollercoaster ride makes but a few brief stops between incredible over the edge action scenes. It's totally out of wack and down right silly most of the time but extremely entertaining. A must see flic for the action genre fan, it's mindnumbing entertainment bypassing believable plot and dialogue for 90 minutes that is over in the blink of an eye. "Shoot em up" pushes the genre with plenty of shooting and fight scene "gimmicks" that are not meant to be realistic. Two examples that have been in published reviews (so I won't be giving anything away): At one point in the movie, the main character delivers a baby, and cuts the umbilical cord by shooting it. In another scene, he kills a man by taking a carrot he was eating and stabbing the bad guy through the eye with it.
Does that sound crazy and fun to you? If so, you'll enjoy this. You'll love and laugh at the series of outrageous fight scenes like my wife and I did.
If those two examples sound stupid, ridiculous, or gory to you, then you simply won't enjoy this movie's brand of entertainment. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More This is a guilty pleasure movie for anyone with a grip about some of the most annoying things in life (e.g. individuals parking in handicap parking or slurpers) and wanted to do something about it. The acting may not be as great, but there were some memorable moments that leave you laughing a little. The action scenes were just what the movie is...a straight up mind-numbing shoot 'em movie. The only thing that made it good was the great moves that the gun man had taking on as many people as he did. This is a pure action packed movie. No real acting or story behind it. Most of the movie I was trying to figure out who the main guy was and why the movie was going the way it was. Just be prepared that this is a guy shoot em up film and that is it. Along with the superficially developed plot, Monica Belluci and all of Clive's corny one-liners ruined the movie. The whole way through my boyfriend and I debated on whether or not to turn it off.
