Read More The thing this one has going for it is only the action, nothing else, which is alright with me. Its also pretty funny but it seemed they where trying to make him like Bruce Campbell in Army of Darkness with lots of silly one-liners which worked in that movie but not so much in this movie. Another thing that kept this movie down, like alot of films lately, (ahem...300) is terrible fake looking blood. Leave it to Hollywood to make a movie that makes ... Read More The ONLY reason this movie doesn't get 5 stars, is the slight anti-gun message that it carries. Yes, that is correct, I said ANTI-gun message. Leave it to Hollywood to make a movie that makes millions of dollars glamorizing gun violence and then try to be progressive and include an anti-gun message to assuage their conscience.
That aside, this movie was awesome. Funny one-liners, cool stunts, Rube Goldberg type chain events, (unrealistic, yes, but as I have said before, if I want realism, I turn off the movies and live life) and more ammo expended than in Rambo 1, 2, and 3 combined. No real character development, but a lot of the time when Hollywood tries to have lots of character development in high-action movies, they mess up both and make the movie unwatchable. This one is high-action, low-brow, and if you're a art-house theater type, you will hate this movie. Read More If you're bed ridden after major surgery, smoked the most potent scientifically altered form of marijuana, drunk off your tail...THEN & ONLY THEN might you find this movie even mildly entertaining. Clive Owen kills a guy with a freakin carrott, he delivers a kid in the midst of an all out gun battle, and various other hugely over-the-top utterly freakin unbelievable stunts make this movie hard to bear. But, it's a Sunday night, and there's nothing else on. I'm trapped; it's watch this crap, or the other crap on cable/network TV, or do all the work that I brought home from the office. If anyone that watched it knows that scene at the playground with the merrygo round, had to be the most stupid thing I have ever seen!!!
