Read More This was one of those surprise gems that make searching out and watching films from around the world so rewarding. The Ingmar Bergman influence was just just barely hidden. The artsy-fartsy camera work was a little distracting at times (numerous closeup shots of tears falling from an eye, or eyes, and silently sliding down a cheek) but overall, didn't detract too from the very fine, original script.
What with all the crap that you have to wade through just to find these types of little hidden treasures, makes it all worthwhile when you do stumble on quality films like this.
Now...back to the search.

Beautifully conceived, written, cast and executed. If you like it, I'd also recommend Danish film "The Celebration." It's not as visually lush (1998 release followed the Dogma 95 doctrine), but just as fulfilling. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
