Read More I just saw this movie last night (April 6th 07) and it was pristine. The gory explosions made the seats vibrate, It's so inventive that you lose yourself in it. You'll hate yourself for liking it. Only Tarantino and Rodriguez could've brought something this to the screen and made it work. We all have our guilty pleasures, mine is Grindhouse. WOW what a ride, we left the movie all sweaty because of the intense action and gore. I thought the first movie had a little better story but the 2nd movie Death Proof was great in a different way. Read More While I found both movies entertaining I thought that Rodriguez's film, Planet Terror, was a more accurate depiction of a Grindhouse movie. Planet Terror had all the elements, extreme gore, over acting, grainy look to the film and a true grindhouse type plot. Death proof was also very entertaining but it was just a bit too good for a grindhouse film. The acting was too good, there really wasn't a whole lot of gore, the stunts were way too good for this type of movie and the story didn't give with a grindhouse movie. I also felt that there was way too much dialog and it seemed to stretch the movie a bit too much. The ending also leaves you saying âÂÂthat can't possibly be the endingâ but it is. Over all, if you're a fan of the true grindhouse movies then you won't be disappointed in this one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Planet Terror will have your adrenaline pumping, ... Read More Whether a movie is cheesy or bad on purpose, doesn't mean its not bad. Aside from the film being three hours long, they have very different vibes. Planet Terror will have your adrenaline pumping, while Terror proof will seem very sedated by comparison. As a theater experience, Planet Terror is just better suited. Planet Terror is your typical zombie movie, its not great like 28 days later, or as funny as shaun of the dead(3 stars). While Death proof suffers, there's a huge character shift that doesn't make sense, people don't act realistically. Even if this is done on purpose, it doesn't mean it was right. *spoilers ahead* The villain goes from stalking his prey, to seemingly acted much more rash than before. His behavior isn't consistent. The make up girl(Rosario dawson) acts more like her sin city character at the end, than the character at the start. They even commit murder, not in self defense, at the end of the film.(2.5) Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
