Read More I chose to watch the international version because when I watch kung-fu/martial arts I prefer to hear the soundtrack in the native language. I don't mind reading subtitles. This is an "average" martial arts movie with some pretty good fight scenes. I really don't see why Quentin got director for the english subtitled US release, since most of the directing was already done by the Chinese director. Anyway, I don't look for good plot in martial arts movies, so that is why I give it an average rating, not a 1/2 star like most of you guys. One thing I did notice even compared to other martial arts films from China, is that the pacing seemed very jumpy. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I'm not a fan of most of Tarantino's movies & frowned when my hubby came home w/this one. I agree that the story line is a bit boring but the fight scenes are spectacular & it's amazing to me how Tony Jaa did it all w/out stunt doubles or wires. I'd never heard of Tony Jaa but I do now. He's an awesome fighter. But like most of Tarantino's movies, certain scenes make you wonder, "What the heck does THIS have to do anything?' Some parts of the movie had me bored out of my mind. Read More Honestly, what is Tony Jaa's love for jungle animals. I understand wanting to save them and everything but good grief Charlie Brown beat up everybody in this movie with a hunter's scarf on (talk about irony). Plot was extremely basic and acting was extremely subpar but it's made up for with the incredible choreography that was put into every fight scene. Didn't he rescue a stolen elephant statue in Ong Bak? Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is not a Chinese/Japanese/American fighting movie. Its a Thai fighting movie, and this fact alone makes it very hard for people who are used to watching mainstream Martial Arts flicks to like this movie. They do their fighting movies very differently. The editing is very poor. You often find characters appearing at locations they should be in, but you don't see how they got there or how they got the information. This is basically a non-stop stunt fighting film. Near the end of the movie, the sound was terrible. They must have used the same bone crunching sound bite 100 times over and over. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
