I remember the original being much better. This move was predictable. And, no, I'm not an old guy or someone who longs for the old movie days it's just that this was one of those movies that should not have been remade because the original movie was based on acting, not on action and CGI. I had no caring when a character died because I didn't know them or feel for them. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I thought the acting was absolutely horrible. I did not feel any realism in the movie. It seemed like even the actors had a hard time pulling this one off.. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Kurt and Richard Dreyfuss are the only two actors with years of acting experience. The Movie Studios should have cut down on the special effects to pay for more experienced actors. Compared to the Original: Gene Hackman, a Academy Award winner, great actor! Ernest Borgnine, a Academy Award winner, talented actor! Shelly Winters, four Academy Awards winner, Golden Globe Awards, and nominations, excellent actress! Other good actors, Red Buttons, Roddy McDowall, Stella Stevens, Leslie Nelson-notice his response to the Wave, on the Original), Arthur O'Connell, Jack Albertson, and a young boy that I seen in the original "Yours, Mine, and Ours," as the youngest son. Wow, what a big difference! In the Original, I cried in one sad scene, and the actors emotions were very believeable. In the remake, the characters lacked emotions. I recommend to everyone that you see the original, then, you'll see what I'm saying. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Look lets be honest here..This is ANOTHER boat sinking in the middle of the ocean movie..you seen one you seen them all- just the passengers are different in each movie..Kurt Russell and the other actors are pretty good..so for just this reason alone -go ahead and check it out--there's not a whole lot else out there and this movie is still worth watching instead of summer reruns on tv..put it in your que and fast forward the slow stuff but there are some good action scenes like when he connects the firehose to the railing to make a slide for russell and his daughter to get to the other side....
