I didn't think the story line was that confusing, but almost self explanatory. Not much needs to be said when a man is hunting another man with one goal, revenge. No matter what reasoning. In my opinion, with the amount of talent on the screen, the acting was under par. Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan both "over" acted. Liam's tough western attitude just didn't do it for me. Pierce's "pain and crying" parts were overly dramatic. The kid was a pretty boy, by no means looked "western" and the first fat guy to get killed was obnoxious with his tongue hanging out everytime the camera was on him. To me, the acting was the flaw, not the story line. And, the scenery was magnificent. Wasn't terrible, but could have been more gritty. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

It is a pretty straight forward old-school style western. Which translates to it being a little slow, but the acting made up for it in my view. The last half hour or so gets a little wacky and you have to wonder if what you are seeing is literally happening to the characters or not. But the film does well to keep you interested in the characters, while building up to the point when you find out the history they have between them. Read More I throughly enjoyed Seraphim Falls, it was really well acted and had an intriguing, yet confusing story line. Throughout the course of the movie, we continue to see Pierce Brosnan's character, Gideon flashing back to a very traumatic event in his life. Its not until almost the end of the movie that we find out in detail what the flashback is, and why Liam Neeson's character, Carver is continuing to track him. Read More The best way to deal with an out of control fire is to let it burn itself out. That's what this story is about except its a man's character that's being consumed with hate in the pursuit of revenge. Most notable performance by Pierce Brosnan who is barely recognizable. If you like survivalist stories where ingenuity and cunning beat the most extreme odds of snowy wilderness and scorching desert then you'll love this movie. Brosnan's character is so skilled in the wild that it deserves a prequel. Nature is as unrelenting as emotion and both hunter and hunted have to deal with it before they can deal with each other.
