Really good movie, inspirational. The kids go from from a doomed mentality, to an 'I can do anything' mentality. Even though their home lives are destructive to becoming responsible, educated adults, they find inspiration in what their teacher has to show and teach them. Good for kids, just be aware of language in the movie. No intimacy or raunchy humor.

My wife and I loved this film! There are some moments of violence but the majority of the film is a serious and touching drama about Hillary Swank's character and her students. Highly recommended!

A near perfect movie. The real-life story that serves as the background to the whole movie. The acting. Hilary is sweet and beautiful and vulnerable and heroic all at the same time. Casting was spot on. My wife, also a teacher, cried throughout the movie. Not because it was sad, but because she knew those kids. She's taught them. And because the movie is so inspirational. So innocent and so raw all at the same time. This is a must see for anyone, especially if you've ever taught a child either as a professional or as a parent. Great show.
