This film is absolutely brilliant, ranking among the best of Hitchcock, and far and away better than anything released in the last 20 or so years. A must see. This movie has been compared to some Alfred Hitchcock's best movies, ... Read More I was excited when I was finally able to see Peeping Tom. I heard very good things. Gotta be honest, I was pretty underwhelmed. This movie has been compared to some Alfred Hitchcock's best movies, but I won't go that far. I have never been bored by anything Hitchcock has done, I was bored more than once during this movie. This thing just plods along and doesn't get very far. I get the message that was being sent through the movie, but it only goes to show the films lack of vision. It's definitely outdated. I absolutely hated the convenient ending. Far better movies have come before and after this one, it just doesn't stand out for me. If you ask me, pass this movie up and rent an actual Hitchcock - like psycho and rear window. The use of technicolor and the angles of the shots in this movie are very well done. I think this was banned before because its a snuff film. It shows the creepy side voyeurism. Although some may find this movie slow in some spots its worth a look at. If you are a fan of the original psycho you should check this out it does have some silimarities. I enjoy the classics but this particular movie I couldn't get into it. I found the actors overplayed their roles. The image beind the camera was distracting. One time I must have hit the commentary version and there was a person narrating the movie which I thought was so dramatic that it was part of the movie.
