Will Smith didn't appear to be the right actor to be cast in this role . I couldn't get into watching it . Denzel Washingston would have been a better choice .

Will Smith is a marvel. You totally get swept up in this story of a man who loses everything but his dreams. His face conveys every frustrating step of the way; from having to stoop to sleeping in subway stations, missing his turn at the homeless shelter, to almost totally jinxing his chance of a lifetime interview.by being arrested. Makes you really think of all the bumps in the road that got you off track. But this guy, he keeps getting back up. Great performance.
