Both he and his son put together one of the best acting performances I have ever seen. The movie is based on a true story, which made it that much better. This movie put a lot of things into perspective for me, because I doubt any of us had to work this hard in our own pursuit of happiness. It is a shame that Will was not nominated for an Oscar. Can't wait to see I am Legend! Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |

Linda (Thandie Newton), who played Chris Gardner's (Will Smith) wife got what I would consider a bad wrap. She was frustrated b/c her husband had made some bad decisions, and she just wasn't able to hand the pressure like he thought she should have been able to. She was presented as somewhat mean and vicious when she was simply disappointed and tired. The movie seemed to try forcing viewers into feeling pity for Gardner.
There were some great father-son moments that warmed the heart deeply, but some portions of the movie were a bit clunky and predictable. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
