FYI, when a synopsis says its by a Spanish filmmaker with a Spanish cast, maybe you should look and actually READ the All Details page where it says the language is SPA! Get a clue! Read More You must take a carefree attitude to enjoy twists and turns of all the situations in this movie. Penelope Cruz is great and her sister, Augustina is as austere as can be - understandable considering her story. It was a fun watch with one unbelievable step after another. However, the overall story is very foreign and very serious for most movie watchers. It has subtitles and some of te language is riotious-- along the lines of-- "The room smells like my Mother's Old Farts.
It is cool sometimes to put in my reviews - a line from the movie-- so come back to read more of my reviews. Also, if you put a quote in your reviews -- flag me somehow. Go to Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Fracture for other reviews. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If I was a mother, I would have protected my daughter also. In these times, there are many women who will stay with a man even after they find out what he was doing to his daughter. I saw a different side of Penelope Cruz that I did not know existed. I knew this movie was subtitled only because I had saw the previews and also I got it from the Blockbuster store and saw the cover. I would recommend it. It is a little slow at times, but I suggest seeing it through. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The colors, the strength of the female characters, the humor, the amazing photography and the great way he gives Penelope Cruz to show how fabulous actress she is, way beyond her good looks and tabloid's constant obsession.
We can travel through his movies, get to know aspects of Spain that otherwise we would never see.
He is one of the best directors of our time sharing with the public his talents through a great story told by awesome female actors.
