Read More For any Almodovar fan, you can be assured that this is a true Almodovar film. He uses a lot of his same people that frequent his movies, and he places people in crazy situations that as always, his subjects are things that other movies leave out. That is what makes Almodovar special though, you never know what you are going to expect, but you know something is going to happen.
I think I liked Hable con Ella a little more, but I think that may be because that was my first Almodvar film I watched. I fully recommend this movie to anyone, but people familiar with Almodovar might appreciate it a bit more. For a side not, this is probably the cleanest of Almodovar's films I've seen (I've seen about 6 or so). This won't affect most people, but for someone who might be sensitive to that, there isn't much objectionable content. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It has everything a movie should have: romance, darkness, sadness, happiness, and love. The storyline is brilliant and the acting is even better. There are moments of non stop laughing, moments of tearful heart breaking passion, and moments of shock. The film has subtitles and they move at a good speed, viewers will have no problem reading them. Its in spanish but if your like me and not from spain but still spanish speaking u might still find yourself reading the subtitles. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
4 out of 4 people found this review helpful I usually do not like movies with subtitles, but this was easy to follow since the subtitles were brief and big enough to read without my glasses. While this is not a "classic", it is very entertaining. Penelope Cruz did an outstanding job with her character (and I have not been her biggest fan in the past). Bottom line, I rented the movie with little expectation and was pleasantly suprised.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I liked this movie and was glad I rented it. I was a little worried in the beginning because Almodovar's movies can be a bit shocking and there was a scene that made me think I might regret that I rented this movie, but after that it was a great movie with a great twist, I would recommend it to others. Read More I like Penelope, but she was only "okay" for me in this. Her reaction to what had happened to her daughter in the film was about as moving as watching paint dry. The entire film (for me) was bland & without any real heart behind it. Lola Duenas was the only one I found believable in this unbelievable yawner...if I could give it only 2 and a half stars I would. Can't do that here so that's the only reason it gets 3 from me. I didn't expect much and got less. A problem I have with Spanish subtitled movies is that I understand a bit of Spanish so when they say something and the subtitle is not an exact translation as I know it, it drives me nuts.
