This movie portrayed a dystopia where staying alive was a major challenge. Clive Owens' performance was wonderful as he rescued a girl who had the first baby in years.

Wow. Alfonso Cauron really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. The movie zips by with one amazing scene, twist and plot turn after another. The movie has a gritty, grungy look to it, but it really works for the story -- which is completely fresh and captivating and will have you on the edge of your seat. Clive Owen is amazing, also. I don't want to say too much and spoil it, but if Universal had only done a better job with the marketing and advertising for this movie it would no doubt have gotten more heat and award nominations. Trust me, it is so realistic you will forget it is sci-fi.

Children of Men has the most amazingly coreographed visuals I've ever seen. The long shots are impossibly long. The concept and story is great- but anyone interested in filmmaking should see it for the cinematography alone. Cuaron really can put the viewer into a film. Best film I saw in 2006.

Throughout the history of war, numerous biological and other weapons have been used to eradicate populations and kill millions of people. Sterilization is one such way. After the atomic bomb hit Hiroshima, it effectively did just that. This is just one evidence of such a catastrophe being a future possibility. This leads to the reality of this film. I thought the film was well done, in fact it was very suspenseful.

This movie is neither sci-fi or great (or good). It's a proganda piece for the far left that wants you to believe that the western world is one catastrophe away from rounding up, abusing, torturing, and killing all immigrants. This is attributed to the Homeland Security program. If you are very, very far left and have a similar bent that the world is just waiting for an excuse for Houlocaust II, then you'll eat this up. If you're not to the far left, the places this movie takes you are so ridiculous as to ruin what little enjoyment was otherwise available in watching this movie.
