Read More I rented this movie because early reviews gave it at least 3 stars. However, after the first half hour I realized that this movie was going to be one of the worst I've ever seen and I was right. Kept watching it though because I thought it would get better as it went along, but I was wrong. Was there even a storyline to this or did I just not get it? Nothing was explained except for the fact that the girl was the first ever to become pregnant after 18 years of the world being infertile and she had to get to some place in order to be safe. Read More I didn't love this movie - unreasonably despairing & a little over the top for SO near our future - but the performances were grand. Clive Owen is always simply marvy and Michael Caine's character was for me the best thing going here. Over all chaos reigns, hearbreak follows and a tiny bit of hope is out there somewhere still. Read More It's one of those movies where you become so drawn into it, and so drawn into the characters, that you don't even realize how dark and gloomy the movie actually is until you've finished watching it. You begin to love the characters, mostly all of them. Every actor played their part so well, especially Michael Caine and Clive Owen. I found myself caring about nothing, not about who died or even the characters themselves, only caring about whether or not the baby was going to survive in time to make it to the Human Project. A very contraversial film portraying a future that is not so far in the future. Alfonso Cuaron did an amazing job. A perfectly balanced amount of action and quiet, of music and of bombshells, and of course, a hint of reality to bring the watcher to his feet. All in all, a five star to me. And to those who can only manage to give it three and a half stars, well..you just don't like thinking about the way society is going, now, do you? Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? You have to keep thinking to get this movie and it has a good but sad ending. All in all, I watched this because I had rented it by accident and basically was forced to watch it.
