Season 6 of the West Wing is the season that brought anticipation and excitement back to the show. With key character changes, more in-depth issues and looking ahead to the end of the series, the West Wing picked the perfect time to be new and fresh in season 6. Every closet fan of C.J. Craig will rejoice in season 6 as she takes on one of the most important jobs in the world - White House Chief of Staff. C.J. transitions flawlessly into this role (perhaps not literally or all at once) as she blends the experience and wisdom from her predecessor, Leo McGary, with her own style of getting things done. Although Jimmy Smits character lacks as much interest, the addition of Alan Alda as the Republican foe (at least in terms of parties) was very much welcomed. Overall I think this is one of the best seasons of the series, and if you fell off of the West Wing wagon at any point, this is definitely the season that will bring you back on again.
