Read More "Your life is an occasion, live up to it". So much more than a visual treat for children, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium teaches powerful lessons about life and how to live it. Plenty of laugh out loud moments for adults who pay careful attention and enough magic to keep our children (11 & 9) asking to watch it again and again. My kids loved it but, believe it or not, I had to explain a lot of the things that Mr. Magorium was saying. He uses big complicated words. I don't know why others call this a 100% kids movie. I thought it was great. I guess I'm a kid at heart or I'm able to see deeply into a movie when others can not. I'll watch this more than once because there is all sorts of stuff going on in the background that gets missed, especially while in the toy store. There were a lot of adult themes as well. It did have a few slow parts but kids will definitely get more from this than adults. I think Dustin Hoffman is great, and he made it watchable for me, with his out-of-this-world magical character. This movie was absolutely boring. Dustin Hoffman stole the show. After Mr. Magorium dies (Don't worry, this isn't a spoiler) the movie just goes into a down-hill plummet. There were many places where the movie could end but the movie continues for another 15 minutes every time. I thought this would be a cartoony, fun filled, fantasy type movie. NO! It is a film that has a great message and a great story line but failed miserably. This could have been so good. This film was very boring and i would not recommend it to anyone. If you think it will be a fun time like the trailer suggests, you will be dissapointed. Skip this one. It had a great message but a horrible delivery. This was such a strange movie. Rated G?
