6 and 10 yr old grandkids loved it..my wife who had the priviledge of taking them thought it was boring and a 100 per cent kids movie , only in that age group, younger probably would not like it and older kids would not like it...so if you have kids - rent it - skip the theatre

This one was a little hard to get into. The toy store is magical and everbody sees it. But nobody questions it??? Kids will enjoy the magic and wonder of the toy store. Adults might have a harder time enjoying although it does explore some interesting themes about "growing up" and putting away childish things. Hoffman is an adult who acts like a kid but is very happy. Bateman is an adult who acts like an adult but isn't very happy. Portman must choose which she wants to be.

This movie was just ok for us. At least it was short so it didn't go on forever, if it had I would give it a lower rating. It is colorful and has great actors, but a bit boring.

This is a very cute movie. The graphics are done very very well and the actors did a great job. The story line was also good.

The disappointment hurt. Mr. Magorium is different. He knows Magik! He is hundreds of years old and knows things we can't even imagine. How do they portray the greatness of this sublime being of immense wisdom and knowledge? Dustin Hoffman acts goofy and talks with an annoying, retarded, Rain-Man slur reminiscent of Adam Sandler in his first three movies. Natalie Portman plays his protege who staunchly defends Mr. Magor and uses magik freely with confidence but, disingenuously, loses all faith when he is not there. With the two main characters disemboweled this story, which has great potential, sinks like a rock with one contrived scene after another. Small children will enjoy it though!

The visual effects are fantastic. Toys magically moving, a Buster Keaton marionette who moves his own strings, a fish mobile that costs $50.00 because the fish are real. A duck duck goose game with a real goose. Mr Magorium loves his store so much he lives for over 200 years. This toy store is any childs ultimate fantasy, which includes adults who are young at heart

Wonderful family movie for all ages. Nothing scary or crude or inappropriate. The box in the story could certainly represent spirituality. I enjoyed this very much and my children understood the message and related it to Christ Jesus. Way to go Hollywood!
