Read MoreI initially rented this movie for my kids to watch. However, when it came I decided to watch it also. To my surprise, this was really a nice movie. I really got into the part about the young lady (played by Natalie Portman) who hadn't exactly lived up to being that accomplished pianist that everyone thought she would be when she was in school. It kind of made you think about yourself and your own life - believe in yourself - "believe in the magic" (as the young lady eventually did). It has a really fast ending though. This is a great movie.

Read MoreCharming and had the feel of a movie made in the 80s - even the soundtrack had that aura about it. Very sweet performance by young actor Zach Mills. Dustin Hoffman was good but for some reason I just kept seeing him and never totally got into his character. Portman didn't seem to fit the bill here either but Justin Bateman did fine. The star of this movie was the "Wonder Emporium" itself and those behind the scenes of creating that. And for me the best actor? The Sock Monkey! Loved him. Great movie to enjoy with and through the eyes of very young children. The movie is about the magic of believing - mostly in ourselves but also in each other because that is where real magic resides. Although Jason Bateman and Natalie Portman turned in acceptable performances, Dustin Hoffman's character was just plain annoying. Watching a "magic" themed movie always requires you to suspend disbelief a little, but this asked for just too much. I thought the story and much of the acting was lame.
